Terms of Service
Last updated August 14, 2026
These terms govern your use of FrontDesk. By creating an account you agree to them. This is a plain-language summary and not legal advice.
The service
FrontDesk provides an AI receptionist that answers calls to a number you forward, answers questions from the business information you provide, takes messages, and — if you connect a calendar — books appointments. Features may change as we improve the product.
Your responsibilities
- Provide accurate business information. The receptionist answers from what you give it; you are responsible for the content you upload and the claims it contains.
- Comply with laws that apply to your calls — including call-recording consent, telemarketing, and messaging (SMS) rules — and configure disclosure/recording accordingly.
- Do not use FrontDesk for unlawful, deceptive, or harassing activity, or for regulated use (e.g. healthcare handling of PHI) unless we have agreed in writing that the service is configured for it.
- Keep your login secure; you are responsible for activity under your account.
AI limitations
The receptionist is automated and can make mistakes. It is designed to answer only from your approved information and to take a message when unsure, but we do not warrant that every answer or action is correct. Use it as a helpful assistant, not an infallible one, and review the outcomes it records.
Call recording, data, and how we use it
To provide the service, we record, process, and store the calls your receptionist handles — including call audio, transcripts, and information derived from them (such as message summaries, caller-provided details, and booking records).
- Why we use it. We use this call data to operate and deliver the service (answering, taking messages, and booking); to secure, monitor, troubleshoot, and debug it; to meet legal and safety obligations; and to maintain and improve the quality, accuracy, and reliability of the service, including improving and tuning the AI models and prompts that power it.
- Model improvement & safeguards. Where we use call content to improve our models or the service, we take reasonable steps to minimize and de-identify personal information. We do not sell your call data or callers' personal information. You may contact us to opt your account's call content out of use for model improvement; we will still process calls as needed to operate the service.
- Retention. We retain call data for as long as needed to provide the service and for legitimate business, security, or legal purposes, after which we delete or de-identify it. You can request access to or deletion of your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
- Caller consent is your responsibility. Recording and monitoring calls is regulated, and many jurisdictions require that callers be notified or give consent before a call is recorded. You are responsible for ensuring any legally required caller notice or consent is in place. Our default receptionist greeting includes a recording notice, which you can adjust or replace; if you change it, you remain responsible for compliance.
Billing
- Plans are billed monthly through Stripe after any free trial. You can cancel anytime; on cancellation we release the phone number provisioned for you.
- Included usage and any overage are described on the pricing page. Phone numbers and usage have real costs; abuse or unusual usage may be rate-limited.
Text messaging (SMS) program
If you provide your mobile number and opt in, FrontDesk (operated by Solid Robotics Inc) sends you account text messages — one-time verification codes and order, appointment booking, and request alerts — at the number you provide. This is a transactional program for account holders; we do not send marketing texts.
- Consent is not a condition of purchase. Opting in to texts is optional; you can create and use a FrontDesk account without it.
- Message frequency varies (for example, a verification code at setup or when you contact support, and one alert per booking).
- Message and data rates may apply, per your mobile carrier plan.
- Opt out anytime by replying STOP to any message; reply HELP for help, or email [email protected]. You can also remove your number in your dashboard settings.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- We do not share or sell your mobile number or SMS opt-in consent. See our Privacy Policy.
Disclaimers & liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, FrontDesk is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the prior three months. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
Termination
You may stop using FrontDesk anytime. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms or create risk. On termination we stop the service and release provisioned resources.
